Present Priorities

The frenetic pace of your schedule could make you feel tense today. Since it may be difficult for you to say no to someone, you might find that you have too much on your plate and feel unable to get everything done. This would be a good time to put first things first and prioritize what absolutely has to get done. Creating a list of your most immediate needs and giving yourself permission to do the rest later could make you feel a greater sense of ease throughout the day today. Should you notice that you are beginning to feel unnecessarily stressed, you can use your breath to remind you of where you are and bring you back into the present moment—you may find that this can give you a greater ability to focus and release any tension you may have.

Setting the intention to only do what we need to makes our lives much easier. If we continually think about the fact that there will always be something for us to do, we are automatically pulling ourselves out of the present and into the future for fears and tensions will make it more difficult to concentrate on our present tasks. A basic list of priorities and our breath, however, gives us a point of focus, a way to live in the moment, and allows us to take care of our most important needs. Limiting yourself to a few tasks and staying in the present will help you work more effectively and with more peace of mind today.
